Oh! Nuts is a website that specializes in bulk food orders, specifically candy, nuts, and dried fruits.
Pros
- you can get all sorts of hard to find items – um, dried kiwi?!?
- everything (or at least most things) are 100% kosher
- prices are fair
- the site is organized in an easy to use way
Cons
- the nutritional information is not listed for every item
- my order had an error, which was disappointing
- many of the dried fruits contain added sugars – not all do, but be sure to check!
As I said they kind of have everything, so my review is by no means a full sampling. They offered to send me three products so I’ll be reporting on the quality of those. Check out the site for yourself though. Or click the links below to go directly to the page for each product.
Veggie Chips
These.Were.Awesome! My husband love love loved them! I loved the fact that they were slices of actual veggies, not veggies + potatoes ground up and reconstituted. My favorite were the green beans and Adam were the carrots, but we both also loved the sweet potato. They were sweet in a wonderful way. My only complaint is that I would have liked a little more salt. According to the bag, the veggies included – sweet potato, squash, carrot, green beans, and taro.
Dried Prunes
Prunes, were in fact supposed to be Medjool Dates, but my order was sent incorrectly. Since this was a free sample that is obviously fine, but if I was a paying customer I’d be a little miffed. Either way, I don’t eat prunes so I sent them to my dad who eats a prune every day, and has done so for years.
I asked for a 4 word review and got – “Large, juicy, chewy, sweet.” When pushed further he said that he thought they were better quality that the prunes he usually buys at the grocery store. This is a man who knows his prunes so that’s a pretty big compliment. His only suggestion for improvement is that they offer unsulfered prunes.
Dried Goji Berries
This was my first try of Goji Berries and I was pretty impressed. They had a nice chew to them, and were great stirred into hot oats. The taste starts as berry, but they have an almost coffee-like aftertaste. It was an interesting arrangement of flavors.
On the Oh!Nuts end, I liked the easy resealable packaging. Also, I’ve only ever seen Goji Berries in einsy bags, so it was nice to see a hefty pound of it.
